The “Paparazzi” of Senegal

Keisha talks about the days of film photography and the entrepreneurial ingenuity of the street photographers of Senegal.

“This is the original scan of this photo. Some of my images are from an old school film camera, a digital camera, and then instant cameras with paper images. This is an instant photo camera. Men around the city would offer to take your photo (they would frequent restaurants downtown and big events like weddings) and then within about 10 minutes (or less) come back with the best and offer to sell them to you. It definitely felt like the paparazzi. The good news is you got to buy your photos.”–Keisha Bush
